Under the direction of the Mapping Manager, the map designer will be responsible for helping to research, create and maintain the MTA’s transit maps, ensuring they are easy to understand, navigate and help address accessibility standards. The map design team at the MTA is a dynamic and innovative group dedicated to solving complex transit system challenges through a combination of art, technology, and communication skills. • Work with cross-functional teams to provide maps rendered to proper digital specifications. • Minimum 3 years’ experience in graphic design or mapping/wayfinding. • Knowledge of ArcGIS and Python scripting is a plus, with the opportunity to learn.
