Position: Graphic Designer Department: Creative Services, Marketing
FLSA Grade: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $68,000 - $75,000 Position Summary:
The LA Phil Creative Services team is looking for a Graphic Designer with entertainment marketing experience. This role is an essential member of the team and is responsible for the day-to-day design and production of marketing and institutional materials in support of LA Phil events, and institutional initiatives across our venues and brands—Walt Disney Concert Hall, Hollywood Bowl, The Ford, and YOLA. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded designer with experience in both print and digital. This position requires an ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to shifting industry dynamics in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Design and production of materials in support of 300+ concerts, and institutional initiatives, including brochures, postcards, digital and social assets, invitations, banners, PowerPoint presentations, and retail/merchandise
Creative emphasis on Marketing, Philanthropy, and Learning Department needs
Manage own design process from brief to production-ready art, including color correction, resizing of assets, layout, and press check.
Maintain LA Phil brand across all platforms to ensure consistency while integrating new creative ideas and concepts
Provide creative support for Creative Services team members, freelance designers, and other departments as needed
This role requires high level of self-motivation, attention to detail and systems as well as problem solving
Manage photography and image libraries for Creative Services and responsible for keeping our digital archive up to date
Requirements: A minimum of 3-5 years of integrated graphic design expertise, including print and digital.
Advanced proficiency in industry-standard design tools and software (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Project Management tools)
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management
A dynamic design portfolio, demonstrating an excellent sense of typography, layout, web and digital design principles
Flexible attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced, rigorous environment
Capable of synthesizing and incorporating feedback from a variety of sources
A culture consumer with a passion and curiosity for all genres of music
Good organizational and time management skills needed to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Dedication and commitment to engage in and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the staff, vendors, and within interactions with the surrounding community is a must
