GRAPHIC DESIGNER / PREPRESS TECHNICIAN

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Graphic Designer / Prepress Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing artwork for print production, reviewing customer files, creating and modifying designs, and ensuring that all files meet production and printing specifications.

The candidate must have strong knowledge of graphic design software, prepress processes, color management, and printing requirements, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and modify artwork for print production.
Check customer files for proper dimensions, resolution, bleeds, margins, fonts, colors, and other printing requirements.
Perform preflight checks and identify potential production issues before files are sent to press.
Create and edit layouts, graphics, dielines, and production-ready artwork.
Prepare files for various printing processes and substrates.
Work with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Manage and verify CMYK, spot colors, Pantone colors, and color separations.
Ensure accurate trapping, bleeds, overprints, and registration.
Review proofs and make corrections as needed.
Communicate with customers, sales representatives, and production personnel regarding artwork requirements and revisions.
Make necessary adjustments to customer-supplied artwork while maintaining design integrity.
Organize and maintain digital artwork files and production records.
Follow job specifications, production schedules, and quality-control procedures.
Troubleshoot artwork and prepress issues to prevent delays or printing errors.
Collaborate with production and printing teams to ensure jobs are completed accurately and on schedule.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience in graphic design, prepress, or print production.
Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Understanding of printing processes and prepress requirements.
Experience working with CMYK, Pantone/spot colors, bleeds, crop marks, dielines, and color separations.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and understand production specifications.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred Experience

Experience in packaging, corrugated boxes, labels, folding cartons, or commercial printing.
Experience working with dielines and packaging artwork.
Knowledge of flexographic, offset, digital, or large-format printing.
Experience with preflight and PDF production standards.
Knowledge of Esko or other packaging/prepress software is a plus.

Working Environment

This position works closely with the Sales, Customer Service, Prepress, and Production departments. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a deadline-driven manufacturing/printing environment where accuracy and quality are essential.

Pay: $25.43 - $30.62 per hour
