Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Graphic Artist to join our production team at a fast-paced custom apparel shop. This role is responsible for taking customer-supplied artwork and transforming it into clean, production-ready designs for screen printing, embroidery, and other decoration methods.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of vector artwork, typography, and apparel layout, and can efficiently recreate designs while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
• Receive and review customer-submitted artwork (logos, photos, sketches, etc.)
• Recreate and vectorize designs for production (screen print & embroidery ready)
• Prepare clean, high-quality files (AI, EPS, PDF, PNG) with proper color separations
• Create mockups on apparel items (t-shirts, hoodies, hats, etc.) for customer approval
• Adjust artwork to meet production requirements.
• Communicate with sales/production team regarding artwork needs and revisions.
• Maintain organized file structure and naming conventions for jobs.
• Ensure all artwork meets company quality standards and deadlines.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of graphic design experience (preferably in apparel or screen printing)
• Adobe Illustrator (required)
• Adobe Photoshop (required)
• Vector artwork and file preparation
• Color separation for screen printing
• Basic embroidery concepts (digitizing knowledge is a plus)
• Ability to accurately replicate designs and follow detailed instructions
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Skills (Bonus)
• Experience with embroidery digitizing software (Wilcom, Pulse, etc.)
• Knowledge of apparel brands and print placements
• Experience creating Shopify or online product mockups
• Familiarity with production workflows in a print shop environment
