Graphic Designer / Production Artist

Position Overview

Sign It Up is looking for a skilled and versatile Graphic Designer who can handle all aspects of a fast-paced sign and graphics shop. This role requires a mix of creative design, customer interaction, and hands-on production work. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable managing projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Creative
• Create custom designs for signs, banners, vehicle wraps, decals, and other printed graphics
• Prepare print-ready and cut-ready files using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and SAi Flexi
• Vectorize artwork and recreate logos as needed
• Ensure designs meet production specifications and customer expectations

Customer Interaction
• Communicate directly with customers to understand project needs
• Provide design recommendations and material suggestions
• Prepare proofs and make revisions based on client feedback
• Deliver excellent customer service in person, over the phone, and via email

Production & Installation Support
• Set up files for printing, cutting, and routing
• Operate or assist with printers, plotters, and laminators
• Weed, mask, and apply vinyl graphics
• Assist with sign assembly and occasional installations

Project Management
• Manage multiple jobs simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Maintain organized files and job records
• Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth workflow

Qualifications
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (required)
• Experience with SAi Flexi (strongly preferred)
• Previous experience in a sign shop or print environment (preferred)
• Strong understanding of layout, typography, and color
• Ability to vectorize artwork and prepare production files
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills
• Vehicle wrap design experience
• Knowledge of large-format printing and vinyl cutting
• Basic understanding of sign installation techniques
• Familiarity with materials such as ACM, coroplast, and vinyl

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a shop/production environment
