Graphic Designer (Remote)

We have approximately 120 employees-expected to grow to about 150 by the end of this year-based in more than 20 states who have decades of experience working in and with criminal, juvenile, and Tribal justice agencies. The mission of the Communications Division is to promote and protect the position of the CSG Justice Center as a national leader on safety and justice issues by translating complex policy and research into accessible relevant content and disseminating it to a variety of audiences to help create safer and stronger communities. We develop innovative strategies to elevate our work and people, and we are looking for a highly skilled graphic/publications designer to help us tell our stories. • Aid in the development and implementation of CSG Justice Center graphics standards. What you'll bring: • Ability to interact effectively with diverse people in different contexts and foster equity and inclusion through self-awareness, cultural sensitivity, and valuing others • Dedication to public service with an unfailing commitment to act with civility, be nonpartisan in performing CSG Justice Center duties, and be a responsible steward of member and donor funds • A bachelor's degree in art, design, marketing, or a related field • At least five years of relevant work experience in the field of graphic or publication design with an accompanying portfolio of work and/or equivalent educational achievements • Experience working with editors and other staff to brainstorm design concepts and offer recommendations for design • Experience designing print, web, social media, branding, and advertising materials • Expert ability to visually communicate written messages or concepts • Demonstrated understanding of design and color theory • Experience designing documents to meet Section 508 compliance standards • Technical expertise in: Adobe Products (especially InDesign, but including Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat), Figma, Canva, Microsoft Office, IE, Safari, Mac OS X, and other software as needed • Ability to work with web development team to produce online reports, interactive tools, web pages, and data dashboards • Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively distill and present complex information in a concise, accessible way • Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and an ability to work both independently and with teams • Efficient, organized work style and an ability to prioritize quickly and confidently, manage multiple deadlines, and take initiative • Experience with UX/UI is a plus • Reliable and secure internet/data connection and flexibility for using a personal device for internet connectivity during business travel (a cost offset is provided by the CSG Justice Center)
