Graphic Designer/Production Artist

Peax Equipment Co, LLC Bozeman, Montana $32–$38.50 an hour

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Graphic Designer / Production Artist to create consistent visual design and accurate, production-ready marketing materials for PEAX. You will turn approved photography, copy, and product information into finished assets across advertising, ecommerce, email, retail, wholesale, and packaging.

You will report to the Marketing Director / VP and collaborate with Content, Ecommerce, Performance Marketing, Email/SMS, and Product Development. This is a hands-on individual contributor role that combines strong design judgment with careful production execution, from the initial brief through revisions, approvals, and final delivery.

What You Will Do

Digital design and campaign materials. Create advertising graphics, email layouts, website assets, product graphics, and campaign materials that communicate product benefits clearly.
Creative variations. Adapt approved creative for different channels, dimensions, placements, and campaign tests while maintaining visual consistency.
Retail and wholesale support. Develop retail signage, trade show graphics, wholesale sell sheets, and dealer support materials.
Brand standards and templates. Maintain brand guidelines, typography, reusable templates, and visual consistency across customer touchpoints.
Print and packaging production. Prepare print-ready files and coordinate specifications and proofs with vendors. Support packaging and hangtag layouts using specifications and claims approved by Product Development.
Project delivery and file management. Manage timelines, revisions, approvals, version control, and final-file organization. Check copy, dimensions, product details, and export quality before release.

Required Qualifications

A portfolio demonstrating strong typography, layout, composition, and visual hierarchy across digital and print work.
Approximately three or more years of relevant graphic design or production experience, or an equivalent portfolio showing you can independently deliver this scope of work.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, including organized source files and production-ready exports.
Practical knowledge of print production, color modes, bleeds, dielines, and proof review.
Experience adapting creative across multiple formats and producing accurate variations efficiently.
Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage competing deadlines and incorporate feedback.
The ability to work within an established brand while contributing thoughtful ideas and improvements.

Highly Preferred Experience

Design work for outdoor, hunting, sporting goods, apparel, or consumer product brands.
Ecommerce, paid social, email design, packaging, or wholesale and retail marketing materials.
Familiarity with Figma, Shopify asset requirements, or basic motion graphics.
An interest in backcountry hunting and the ability to understand the customer, product, and intended use.

A strong, relevant portfolio matters more than a specific degree.

What Success Looks Like

Success means delivering accurate assets on time, maintaining PEAX’s visual consistency, and providing organized files that teammates and vendors can use with confidence. Thoughtful preparation reduces avoidable revisions and production errors. You will also work with channel owners to understand creative performance and apply those insights to future work.
