Graphic Desinger(Part-time)

Joy & Chaos is a Chicago-based small business that makes personalized gifts and custom party favors. We're looking for a detail-obsessed part-time graphic designer to join our team in the studio.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 10 AM - 5 PM (about 20 hours/week), in person.

What you'll do:

Prepare customer designs for print: correct sizing, bleed, CMYK color, vector outlines, and print-ready file export

Personalize designs with names, dates, and custom text for customer orders

Create realistic product mockups for our website and Etsy listings

Edit and retouch product photos in Photoshop

Proof every file carefully before it goes to production

Keep design files organized and labeled so orders are easy to find

We’re looking for:

Strong, hands-on knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

Experience setting up files for print production

Extreme attention to detail. One wrong letter in a name means a ruined gift.

Ability to work efficiently through a queue of orders and meet deadlines

Clear communication and willingness to ask questions when something looks off

Reliable, on time, and comfortable in a fast-paced small business, especially during busy seasons

Nice to have:

Experience with e-commerce (Etsy, BigCommerce, Shopify)

Familiarity with sublimation, vinyl, laser engraving, or other personalization methods

Typography and lettering skills

Canva experience
