Under the supervision of the Marketing Director, the Graphics and Multimedia Designer oversees the Garden’s visual identity by creating and assisting with graphic design and communications to achieve consistency with Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden’s brand. An ideal candidate will be experienced in both web and print design, have in-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress, bring creative design solutions to the table, and be able to manage the demands of multiple projects. Responsibilities • Oversee the Garden’s visual brand identity across platforms • Use Adobe Creative Suite to develop graphics and materials for print and digital use, including but not limited to signage, flyers, brochures, digital, and social media • Create branded materials and signage for Garden departments including Marketing & Public Relations, Guest Services, Exhibitions, Facilities, and Learning & Engagement • Serve as the site administrator for the Garden’s public facing website, lewisginter.org • Ensure Garden website is up-to-date and optimized for SEO and social media use • Work with the Garden’s Learning & Engagement team to ensure the Garden's interpretive materials are accessible and follow best practices • Collaborate with the Garden’s advertising agency on campaigns • Manage resources/graphic assets and information including photos and design files • Work with external community partners to ensure mentions of the Garden meet brand standards • Work with the Digital Content Strategist on content design and occasionally provide support for monitoring and posting across all social media platforms • Shoot video and use editing tools to develop engaging content • Use analytics to guide decisions and recommendations for Garden website design / UX • Provide valuable feedback from constituents and be a key member of the communications team in the event of a crisis situation. Employees of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden • Must comply with provisions of the current Employee Handbook, all published personnel policies and the requirements of their individual job descriptions • Must perform all duties in a manner consistent with a public garden serving multigenerational and multicultural individuals, families in accordance with directed practices and procedures • Must be aware of surroundings and vigilant to threats to the safety of visitors, volunteers, and staff or to security of their property, ensuring that all concerns are reported promptly • Must report all injuries and incidents immediately and ultimately in writing to supervisor(s) and to Human Resources • Must ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations • Must perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, multimedia design, communications or related field, or equivalent experience • Outstanding design aesthetic with solid understanding of branding and social media marketing • Two to five years' experience in marketing, advertising, or similar field • Experience managing multiple design projects • Experience designing for the web, social media, and printed materials • Ability to maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment • Ability to solve design problems with alternate design solutions
