Job SummaryThe Graphics Designer Associate is an entry level position with growth opportunities. Responsibilities: Working with the creative, marketing and select sport teams in developing design materials for all Purdue Athletics, recruiting needs, and the John Purdue ClubWorking closely with the non-revenue sports in the creation of marketing materials including ads, brochures, flyers, web graphics, t-shirts, etcOther duties as assignedThis is a one year position with opportunity for an additional year. Required: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Interface Graphics, Web Design, or related fieldDemonstrable knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Understanding and knowledge of design concept and applicationAbility to provide a portfolio which highlights a variety of projects including... identity design, advertising and/or page layoutStrong organizational skills with ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage several projects at one timeExcellent communication skills, including written and verbal, and have the ability to present ideas clearly and conciselyAbility to work independently and self-manage project flowTeam player with the ability to work well in a team setting and across diverse groups, organizations and departmentsMust be detail-oriented, proactive, energetic, curious, creative thinker, trouble shooter and problem solverComputer proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPointPreferred: A strong understanding of sportsAdditional Information: This was formerly classified as an operational/technical position; an internal lateral transfer will retain same benefit standingPurdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this positionA background check will be required for employment in this positionFLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible For Overtime)Retirement Eligibility: Non-exempt Defined Contribution PlanPurdue University is an EOE/AA employer.
