The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in graphic design, innovative skills in digital and AI-generated graphics, and a good understanding of visual needs for social media. The successful candidate will participate in meetings with communications professionals to translate ideas into visual media, collaborate on visual strategies and production plans, and consult with stakeholders on creative solutions.SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTABILITY :Opportunity to supervise a graphics intern.NATURE AND SCOPE :Internal contacts include University executives, staff, and students. External contacts include media representatives, vendors, and alumni.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :Design and produce high-quality digital graphics for platforms such as social media, newsletters, intranet, campus digital displays, digital ads, and the website.Collaborate with marketing and content teams to ensure visual content aligns with brand guidelines and campaign goals.Create visual solutions for marketing materials like fact sheets, infographics, and other collateral to inform stakeholders and enhance the University’s reputation.Support in selecting graphics and stock photography for editorial assets.Proficiency in creating GIFs and animated designs using tools like Adobe After Effects, Animate, or similar.Work with the social media team to create engaging content that increases user interaction and brand awareness.Understand the specific graphic requirements for different social media platforms.Maintain the University’s digital asset management system.Enforce accessibility best practices in design.Work effectively under tight deadlines and high-stress situations.Differentiate between digital and print design products and assets.Develop promotional marks for campus initiatives.Ensure all graphic content complies with brand standards and quality expectations.Provide high-quality customer service to stakeholders, aligning with the University’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.CORE COMPETENCIES :Excellent organizational and time management skills.Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Canva, Adobe Spark, and other relevant design tools.Ability to present and explain design concepts clearly.Collaborative, solution-oriented, and adaptable team player.Critical and analytical thinking skills.Ability to work independently and in teams.Problem-solving skills and responsiveness to change.High attention to detail and accuracy.Effective communication skills, both written and oral.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, or related field.At least two years of related experience.Experience with motion graphics, video editing, and illustration is a plus.
