Custom sports apparel and medal manufacturer in NW Portland, is looking for a talented Pre-Press Production Artist with experience creating graphics for screen printing and seam to seam sublimation printing on apparel (knowledge of design, materials and graphic capabilities of award medals a PLUS).
This person will be part of our Graphics Production Team responsible for Design, Pre-Press and Quality Control of graphics on t-shirts, outerwear & apparel accessories and athletic award medals. You must understand screen printing and have at least 3 years of experience working in a Pre-Press department.
Our graphic artists communicate internally with our in-house sales team who manage the customer’s needs. When the revisions and final art is completed, you work with our US screen printers and offshore factories to make sure the correct art is produced.
Your main tasks will include designing or manipulating logos or full seam to seam graphics for our customers onto our product line of t-shirts, outerwear and accessories, and creating graphics for our customer’s medals.
Your typical workday will include doing renderings of different graphics on our product line, doing pre-press production work of the approved renderings, performing digital press checks to confirm accuracy when printing in the US, and sending files offshore to get prototypes to QC. When prototypes arrive you will take detailed pictures of them, QC them for accuracy, and communicate the results with our sales department and factories. Daily communication and maintaining records encompass the administrative duties.
Best candidates will have a strong eye for detail, be self-motivated and able to prioritize competing demands. Multi-tasking, meeting timelines, listening well & following direction are all vital skills in this position. Flexibility and accuracy are necessary qualities to be successful here.
Requirements:
Ability to be Creative and Design logos or full sublimation art for apparel
Pre-Press production skills.
Proficiency with Mac Platform using Illustrator and Photoshop.
Vectorizing logos (Not just tracing tool).
Screen printing knowledge.
Experience with press checks and digital approvals
Ability to take quality photos of prototypes to share with sales and the factories.
Excellent spelling, proof reading and communication skills.
Being self-motivated, and also able to work closely with a team.
Ability to adapt to change and multi-task in a fast paced, deadline sensitive environment.
Available to work occasional weekends or evenings if needed.
An understanding of Full Body Sublimation and the Athletic Medal industry is a plus!
Our work week is Monday–Friday, typically 40 hours with very occasional evenings and weekend hrs to meet tight deadlines and communicate with offshore factories.
This is an in-house, full-time position. No freelancers or temporary help. We need a person who is serious and ready to join our team for the long haul.
