Industrial Design Creative Lead

Overview We are seeking a full-time Industrial Design Creative Leader in our Portland, OR location. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the creative direction of industrial design projects and owning the working relationship with a market segment. Responsibilities Essential Functions * Be the design leader/design advocate for a market segment and associated product lines * Be the Industrial Design point of contact and interface with other engineering leadership (EE, ME, SW, UI, Graphics) * Develop a collaborative working relationship with market segment leaders and product managers * Support product managers during the creation of a new product concepts and roadmaps * Lead Industrial Design team members on projects to deliver compelling designs and ensure results meet or exceed expectations * Create and evolve the design language for specific market segments and maintain an active design role on projects * Collaborate with Team Leaders on the growth and development of team members * Inspire, understand, and communicate segment vision and expectations to designers * Knowledgeable and up to date with market trends and competition * Collaborate with designers and mechanical engineers on project schedules and present designs to segment leaders, product managers, and executives * Lead the ID strategy meeting for every project and create enthusiasm and engagement for design in a specific market segment Qualifications Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design and a minimum of 8 years experience * Experience in a leadership role or the ability to demonstrate leadership skills * Excellent portfolio and highly developed design skills * Strong strategic, creative, and conceptual skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a creative team * Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * Expert with design related software such as 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchbook Pro, and Keyshot * PC/Windows and other office business software environment experience * Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment Sequoia Demo Company International International is an equal opportunity employer.
