INLANDER PRODUCTION MANAGER

Past experience managing both people and deadlines is a requirement. Experience as a production manager of any kind, or specifically at a newspaper or ad agency, would be a big plus but are not required to apply. THE INLANDER MISSION: To deliver journalism to our region To support our local economy To maintain a rewarding place for our team to work To make the Inland Northwest a cool place THE WORK: We publish a wide variety of titles throughout each year — the weekly Inlander, special Inlander issues like Summer Guide and Best Of, glossy magazines, even a ski resort map We also stage a handful of events each year, with companion publications to promote them — Inlander Restaurant Week, Snowlander Winter Party And we have a robust online presence at inlander.com, along with a series of email newsletters we send out every week DUTIES INCLUDE: Manage our production and graphic design departments Manage some elements of our electronic publishing Manage, communicate and enforce all Inlander deadlines Track and document progress on all weekly work and special projects Be a part of our management team, guiding company-wide decisions Intake, plan and execute production elements of special projects and special issues; allocate work to your team as needed Maintain weekly workflow systems Work with the advertising team to get all ads placed Work with the editorial team to get pages and content placed Work with our outside print shops to deliver our products on time and on spec Responsible to send final files to our print shops, correct, clean and on time Ability to use our key software — Google Docs, Adobe Creative Suite, etc Ability to work within our network, server and IT systems (We can train you on our specific uses, but please describe any experience and proficiency you already have with computer software and hardware) KEYS TO SUCCESS IN THIS JOB: Organization, efficiency and attention to detail Coaching, motivational and problem-solving skills Calm under pressure, as you will work at the center of the Inlander universe If this sounds like a great fit for you, send your resume and cover letter to Ted McGregor, Inlander publisher, with the subject line “Production Manager.”
