The Center for Technology in Education in the School of Education at Johns Hopkins University seeks a dynamic individual to fill the role of Graphic Designer. This individual will have the unique opportunity to create cutting-edge visual concepts, artwork, and layouts utilizing digital computer software to communicate ideas that engage, inspire, inform, and captivate users (internal and external). Reporting to the Program Director for Outreach and Engagement, this position will develop the overall layout and production design for various applications such as graphics, websites, marketing materials, presentations, and internal/external events.Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesConceptualize engaging and illustrative infographics for training sites, presentations, brochures, and reports.Design various website elements, including attractive banners, splash images, prominent buttons, menus, and icons.Source images (stock photos and video footage).Design various marketing materials for center projects and programs, including flyers, brochures, promotional items, booklets, conference handouts, signage, and posters.Create email marketing items, presentation materials, and interactive event materials.Create vibrant, informative, and engaging presentations for various audiences.Review materials created by others for standards and brand alignment.Collaborate with various Center teams on design needs.Quickly learn and integrate multiple Center project brand guidelines while adhering to the overall guidelines of Johns Hopkins University.Resize assets for different devices (tablet, mobile, and web).Juggle multiple projects simultaneously while effectively managing timelines and expectations.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAdobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.Strong design and troubleshooting skills, as well as an eye for detail.A solid foundation in typography, layout, and design.Strong problem-solving skills.Experience with transitions and dynamic interaction.A penchant for details and organization, including the ability to prioritize tasks, communicate progress, and meet deadlines.The ability to effectively take direction and work both collaboratively and autonomously.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, or related field.Two years of experience and a portfolio.Preferred QualificationsTotal RewardsThe referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University's salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training, and other qualifications.
