The Jr. Graphic Designer will produce high-quality designs for marketing collateral, advertising, web, and public relations projects, meeting deadlines efficiently. They will execute projects based on a production queue, following brand guidelines and incorporating feedback. The Jr. Graphic Designer must also proofread and edit designs to ensure accuracy and consistency. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is essential, along with a strong understanding of design principles and typography. These projects include, but are not limited to, print and digital advertisements, online content, and any appropriate marketing collateralWork directly with Sr. Graphic Design Coordinator and Communications Manager on photo shoots, video creation, print ads, interactive media as well as any other marketing materials that may be neededAssist in the brainstorming, planning, designing, and procurement of promotional materials to fulfill Destination El Paso's staff needsCollaborate with the Marketing team and take creative direction from the Sr. Graphic Design CoordinatorBe responsible for the design and layout of ads to be used in publications promoting Destination El Paso's venues and/or special eventsQUALIFICATIONS1 - 3 years' experience in a Graphic Designer roleProficiency with design principles and best practices is essentialImage editing skills, including resizing, adjusting, and image optimizing, are foundational skillsStrong knowledge of corporate branding, digital media, and color theoryExpert knowledge across Adobe Creative Suite, with preferred expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and LightroomStrong typography and compositional skillsAbility to work on and prioritize tasks for multiple projectsA portfolio highlighting mastery in graphic design across multiple mediumsStrong proofreading skills and ability to ensure typography text elements are free of errors and have high-impact legibilityGraphic design skills, layout skills, customer focus, and handles feedback constructivelyProficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Mac and PC platformsExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to learn, adapt, collaborate effectively, and take direction from othersDetail-oriented, inventive, expert, and practical approach to creative workWork effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule to produce accurate and effective resultsIllustration skills are a plusHolds a valid Texas driver's license and able to operate a variety of vehiclesConsiderable knowledge of office practices and proceduresWork extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessaryPosition is not substantially exposed to adverse conditionsRemain flexible and adjust to situations as they occurEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree, or higher, in Graphic DesignMinimum 1 year in graphic design rolePHYSICAL DEMANDSPosition requires sitting and standing for long periods of timeDaily sitting, focusing on and operating a personal computer or terminal keyboard to enter data for over 60 minutes at a timeAbility to read printed words and numbers in printed form and on computer/terminal monitorWORKING ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONSThe essential responsibilities of this position are described under the headings above.
