Junior Designer

HGA is seeking a Junior Designer to support operations in Baton Rouge, LA. This contract opportunity will involve documenting existing systems and developing updated PFDs/P&IDs using AutoCAD. The role will require both field and office work. Key Responsibilities • Perform field walkdowns of tanks, pumps, and associated piping • Document existing systems through sketches, notes, and field observations • Draft PFDs and P&IDs in AutoCAD based on field-collected information • Clearly sketch simple piping ISOs • Produce accurate as-built P&IDs when working in the office • Follow all safety protocols and work safely in field environments Qualifications • 2-5 years of experience in Piping or E&I design • Basic drafting skills with the ability to interpret and create P&IDs • Past field experience preferred • Ability to clearly sketch and communicate design concepts • TWIC card required • Familiarity with P&ID standards and expectations • Strong attention to detail and ability to document field conditions accurately • Willingness to work outdoors and adjust to varying field conditions • Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate • Safety-focused mindset with adherence to site requirements
