Junior Graphic Designer and Prepress Assistant

Start Date: TBD Alpha Graphics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Graphic Designer & Prepress Assistant to join our creative team. The primary focus of this position is graphic design for print and digital projects, with light prepress responsibilities to support file preparation. Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): • Graphic Design • Create and revise visual designs for print and digital materials including marketing collateral, large-format graphics, signage, logos, and branded templates • Prepare layouts, typography, and color usage consistent with brand guidelines and client specifications • Support the development of visual concepts and assist in translating creative briefs into design solutions • Collaborate with the project manager, senior designer, and production team to ensure accurate, production-ready deliverables • Occasionally support client meetings alongside senior team members to present work and gather feedback • Prepress & Production • Prepare, review, and preflight files for print production to ensure accuracy and compliance with print specifications • Package files, verify links, fonts and confirm bleeds, margins and image resolution(CMYK, spot colors, bleeds, trims, and resolution) • Troubleshoot file issues and resolve errors prior to printing • Create proofs and make revisions based on feedback • Coordinate with production teams and printers to ensure smooth job execution • Social Media Marketing (Desired but not required- we can train the right person) • Assist Digital Coordinator to: • Execute, schedule, and publish engaging content across social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and X • Plan and execute social media campaigns to support promotions, product launches, and brand initiatives • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with the online community in a timely and professional manner • Track, analyze, and report on social media performance using analytics tools; adjust strategies based on insights and trends either weekly, monthly, or quarterly. Qualifications & Skills • 1 - 2 years of design experience • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field - preferred • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop required) • Creative mindset with an eye for visual storytelling • Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools (preferred) • Basic understanding of print standards • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Strong understanding of typography, layout and visual hierarchy • Excellent attention to detail or organization.
