Junior Graphic Designer - 3D Artist/Corporate Stage Design

Royal Productions New Orleans, Louisiana

About Royal Productions

Royal Productions is a premier national audiovisual and live event production company with nearly 40 years of excellence. We serve as the dedicated in-house AV partner at hotel properties and venues across the country, while also producing large-scale road shows, corporate conferences, galas, and live events nationwide.

Our services span scenic design and fabrication, lighting, audio, video, live streaming, staging, creative content, and more. We combine cutting-edge technology with hands-on craftsmanship to deliver unforgettable experiences. If you thrive in a fast-paced creative environment where no two projects are the same, you’ll fit right in.

The Role

We’re looking for a talented 3D Artist and/or Graphic Designer to join our Scenic & Creative team. In this role, you’ll transform event concepts into stunning 3D renderings, technical drawings, and print-ready graphics that help clients visualize their events before they happen - and bring those visions to life on stage. You’ll collaborate closely with our creative directors, technical leads, fabrication team, and hotel partners to deliver polished, production-ready designs on tight timelines.

What You’ll Do

3D Modeling & Rendering

Develop to-scale 3D models and photorealistic renders of stage sets, scenic pieces, and venue environments from 2D concepts and creative briefs
Present client-facing visualizations that clearly communicate the look and feel of proposed event designs
Iterate on designs based on client and internal feedback, managing revisions efficiently through approval
Apply professional modeling, sculpting, texturing, lighting, and mapping techniques

Technical Drafting & Layout

Produce fabrication drawings for new scenic builds and existing inventory modifications
Work within specific venue dimensions and spatial requirements to ensure designs are executable on-site

Graphic Design & Print Production

Design graphics for use in 3D renders, client proposals, and event collateral
Prepare print-ready files in small and large format for scenic wraps, signage, banners, and branded elements
Adapt and modify client-supplied artwork to meet production specs for printing and fabrication
Convert, trace, and upscale graphic files as needed; maintain an organized digital asset library

CNC & Fabrication Technology

Royal Productions operates an in-house CNC machine as part of our scenic fabrication workflow. This role will have the opportunity to work directly with it:

Prepare design files and toolpaths for CNC cutting and routing of scenic elements, signage, and custom fabrication pieces
Operate or learn to operate our CNC machine to execute cuts on materials such as foam, wood, acrylic, and composite panels
Bridge the gap between digital design and physical production - seeing your work go from screen to stage floor

Prior CNC experience is a plus, but not required - we’re happy to train the right person who’s eager to learn.

What We’re Looking For

Technical Skills

Proficiency in 3D software - Autodesk 3ds Max preferred, but comparable platforms welcome (Blender, Cinema 4D, SketchUp, etc.)
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, DraftSight, or equivalent drafting tools
Strong command of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator
Ability to think, visualize, and design in 3D space with attention to real-world scale and proportion

Soft Skills & Work Style

Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment - comfortable sharing work-in-progress and receiving constructive feedback
Self-disciplined with strong project management instincts: breaks complex projects into manageable tasks and meets deadlines consistently
Adaptable and solutions-oriented - able to pivot when creative direction shifts or timelines tighten
Effective communicator who can translate between creative vision and technical execution

Bonus Points

Experience in live events, theater, scenic fabrication, or exhibition design
Familiarity with large-format printing workflows and material specs
Motion graphics or animation capabilities
A portfolio that demonstrates range across 3D rendering, technical drafting, and graphic design

Why Royal Productions?

Nearly 40 years of industry leadership with a national footprint and growing
Creative variety - no two events are alike, and you’ll work across corporate conferences, galas, concerts, and more
Collaborative culture where your ideas are valued and your growth is supported
Opportunity to see your designs built, installed, and experienced live

How to Apply

Submit your resume and portfolio via Indeed (or samples of relevant work) along with an email to [email protected] and [email protected]. We’d love to see examples of 3D renders, technical drawings, and/or graphic design work. A cover letter is welcome but not required - let your work speak for itself.
