Junior Graphic Designer

## About the Role

We are looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join our creative studio at Saint Joseph's University. In this full-time position, you will design ads, print materials, multimedia collateral, and other creative assets while adhering to our University brand standards. You'll collaborate with and take direction from members of the creative studio to communicate the brand, drive enrollment, and achieve other communications goals through visual and multimedia design.

## What You'll Do

You'll meet regularly with internal teams to manage timelines, assets, progress, and deliverables. You'll provide graphic design and technical support in the development of University ads, publications, promotional materials, web presence, and social media content—always following brand standards. You'll manage projects from start to finish and work directly with printers, mail houses, and other vendors to ensure timely delivery. Additionally, you'll assist the creative team with the implementation and maintenance of studio technologies and platforms like Bynder, Marq, and Workfront, and support the studio manager with administration and project management.

Secondary responsibilities include working with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure compliance with brand standards and proper use of logos, colors, fonts, trademarks, and more. You'll participate in brainstorms and creative sessions that enhance campaigns and creative work, plus take on other duties as assigned.

## What We're Looking For

**Minimum Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's degree in graphic design communications or equivalent education and work experience

- At least 1 year of experience in graphic design or design production roles

- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In. Design)

- Experience with Adobe After Effects and Figma is a plus

- Strong ability to ensure projects adhere to brand standards in traditional and emerging media

- Experience in graphic design, prepress production, photo retouching, typography, and layout

- Photography experience is a plus

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining consistent quality

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Operational and project management experience, including expertise with project management software/tools

- Excellent organizational skills that support the rest of the creative team

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Prior experience in higher education

- Prior experience in advertising

- Prior animation or web design experience

## Compensation & Work Environment

The estimated pay range for this position is **$50,000-$55,000**, and the offered salary will be commensurate with work experience and educational background. Work may require long periods in front of a computer, and occasional weekend or after-hours work may be needed.

## Location & Eligibility

This role is based on our **Philadelphia campus (Hawk Hill)**. Saint Joseph's University may only consider applicants from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York (excluding New York City zip codes), and Delaware. Delaware residents must be present for over 50% of work time on an SJU campus. If relocation is necessary, financial assistance may be available but is not guaranteed.
