The junior level graphic designer will work on a wide variety of projects for The Times-Picayune | The Advocate and all other properties within the organization. Primary responsibility will be advertising production conceptualizing, designing and completing digital, print, and social media advertising for clients of our organization in all markets (New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and statewide). Skills required • 2-3 years professional experience as a graphic designer • Proficient in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Adobe Illustrator proficiency a plus • Experience with Microsoft Office (primarily Outlook, Powerpoint and Word) • Able to work on deadline and take direction • Good understanding of typography and its purpose in design • Intermediate to good understanding of image types, image toning, and pre-press optimization for print projects • Good interpersonal communication skills The Advocate is committed to recruiting, developing, and promoting a diverse workforce while providing unique opportunities and career paths for our employees.
