Junior Graphic Designer

benton buckley books Baltimore, Maryland

If you’re a designer obsessed with detail, beauty, and work that endures… this might be for you.

Company Description

benton buckley books is a boutique publishing house creating museum-quality luxury coffee table books that immortalize the work of the world’s most visionary architects and designers. Each publication is a carefully curated exhibition—where artistry, culture, and storytelling are preserved in a timeless, tactile form.

Through bespoke monographs and exclusive collections, we transform creative work into heirloom pieces—celebrating beauty, craftsmanship, and the enduring power of print.

Role Description

This is not a typical junior design role.

This is an opportunity to refine your craft inside a luxury publishing house and contribute to work that lives on for generations.

We are seeking a Freelance Junior Graphic Designer to support the creation of high-end coffee table books and brand materials. You will work closely with the Principal Publisher and collaborate with writers, editors, and creative professionals to bring visually compelling narratives to life.

This role is ideal for a designer who is deeply passionate about typography, composition, and storytelling — and who wants to develop their eye within a highly curated, design-driven environment.

You will contribute to:
• Editorial layout and book design
• Development of refined brand assets and visual systems
• Custom illustrations and design elements
• Upholding the highest standards of composition, typography, and visual storytelling

Every project you touch becomes part of a permanent, collectible work of art.

What We’re Looking For
• Strong foundation in graphic design, layout, and typography
• A refined eye for aesthetics, detail, and composition
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines in a remote setting
• Genuine interest in design, architecture, publishing, or luxury brands

Experience in print or publishing is a plus — but taste, discipline, and curiosity matter more.
