Role Overview

The Junior Graphic Designer supports the Design team by executing production-ready design assets for retail packaging and related materials. This role works closely with Art Directors and Designers to bring concepts to life while learning RMS design systems, workflows, and production standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, eager to learn, and excited to grow in a fast-paced consumer products environment.

Key Responsibilities & Expectations

Execute production-ready artwork for retail packaging, displays, inserts, and related assetsPrepare files for print, including dielines, color corrections, bleeds, and CMYK setupCollaborate with Art Directors, peers, and Sales to meet deadlines and production schedulesTake ownership of assigned projects under the guidance of experienced DesignersMaintain brand consistency across multiple product lines and retail partnersOrganize, label, and archive digital assets accurately and consistentlyAssist with mockups, presentations, and concept boards for line reviews and buyer meetingsResearch visual trends in toys, impulse items, and pop culture to support new product conceptsEnsure all artwork meets quality, safety, and compliance standardsLearn and apply RMS design systems, workflows, and production standardsContribute to a team-oriented design environment by communicating clearly and constructivelyAccept feedback professionally and implement revisions efficientlyMaintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field

Required Skills & Capabilities

Design Fundamentals

Strong understanding of packaging layout, hierarchy, and compositionSolid grasp of color theory and typographyAbility to adapt to different brand styles and product categoriesAbility to follow established brand guidelines with consistencyStrong attention to detail and accuracy

Technical & Production Skills

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)Experience setting up print-ready files, including bleeds, dielines, and CMYKUnderstanding of packaging dielines and templatesBasic knowledge of prepress and print production processesExperience creating 3D mockups or packaging renders

Collaboration & Professional Skills

Ability to take art direction and feedback constructivelyAbility to work independently or collaboratively as part of a teamClear communication skills across cross-functional partnersStrong time management and prioritization abilitiesWillingness to learn, grow, and develop design skillsAbility to adapt quickly in a fast-moving product environment
