Laser Technician

Job Description Laser Technician will operate laser engraving machines to produce product as needed to fill work orders and prepares adequate inventory for future production needs. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Operates digital laser engraving machines to transfer computer generated graphics to wood and metal souvenir and gift products * Positions and secures blank products in laser machines * Maintains high quality standards by examining test products to detect errors or poor quality in blank items or engravings * Sets controls of digital laser machinery to attain specified size of reproduction on work piece including height, depth, and width of engraving as trained * Ensures accurate reproduction of graphic images and verifies conformance to work order specifications * Cuts product templates as required * Cleans and maintains work area and performs basic maintenance on engraving equipment * Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: * Basic active listening skills, reading comprehension, writing and arithmetic skills * Strong computer background in windows and graphic design * Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, tools and accessories for finishing * Ability and desire to perform repetitive tasks required * Close attention to detail required * Experience in production a plus * Ability to lift 30 pounds required * Ability to accept supervisory direction * Organizational and time management skills required WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions involve using engraving machines that create a minimum amount of noise; a very comfortable light- manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent repetitive tasks.
