Role Description The Lead Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Milford, CT, responsible for guiding the overall design process for cabinetry projects from concept through completion. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with clients to understand their requirements, preparing design proposals, and creating detailed layouts and specifications using design software. The Lead Designer collaborates with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure designs are accurate, feasible, and aligned with project timelines and budgets. This role also oversees design standards, reviews drawings for quality and consistency, and provides direction and feedback to junior designers or support staff. The Lead Designer is expected to maintain organized project documentation, stay current on design trends and product options, and contribute to a positive, professional client ex

Qualifications

Experience in kitchen, bath, or interior cabinetry design, including space planning and material selection.Proficiency with design and drafting software (e.g., 2020 Design, CAD tools, or similar digital design platforms).Strong visual, spatial, and technical skills with the ability to interpret and create detailed drawings and specifications.Effective communication and client-facing skills, including the ability to present design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams.Organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and changing priorities.Attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensuring designs meet safety, functional, and aesthetic standards.Previous experience in a lead or senior design role within cabinetry, millwork, or related interior design fields preferred.Relevant education in interior design, architecture, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
