The primary function of the Customer Order Designer (COD) is to provide either (1) mechanical design or (2) electrical design and documentation support for our electrical switchgear and control products. The role requires technical work requiring a high degree of creativity as well as technical design and drafting skills, demonstrating a thorough understanding of basic materials, mechanical and electrical principles, and manufacturing concepts in the development of standard product designs and/or processing of customer orders of the most complex nature. This includes, but is not limited to engineering designs, collaborating with Customer Order Engineers, Application Engineers and Manufacturing Associates, utilization of design automation software, and producing/maintaining manufacturing documentation.
