Lead Motion Graphics Designer

Our client, a cutting-edge digital agency focused on creating engaging visual content, is looking for a talented Lead Motion Graphics Designer to spearhead their motion graphics team in **San Jose, California, US**. This role requires a visionary artist with exceptional technical skills and a proven ability to lead projects from concept to completion. You will be responsible for developing and executing high-quality motion graphics for a diverse range of media, including marketing campaigns, explainer videos, social media content, and broadcast graphics.

Responsibilities: Lead the conceptualization and creation of compelling motion graphics for various client projects. Direct and mentor a team of motion graphics designers, providing creative guidance and technical support. Develop storyboards, animatics, and style frames to visualize concepts and present them to clients. Execute high-quality animation, compositing, and visual effects. Collaborate closely with art directors, video editors, and other creative professionals to ensure cohesive visual storytelling. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for motion graphics projects. Ensure all motion graphics deliverables meet client specifications and brand guidelines. Stay updated with the latest trends, software, and techniques in motion graphics and animation. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the agency's motion graphics style and best practices. Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize workflows for efficiency. Operate and maintain motion graphics hardware and software. Present design concepts and final work to clients and internal teams. Explore innovative approaches to visual communication through motion. Maintain a strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Animation, Film, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 6 years of experience in motion graphics design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior role. A strong portfolio showcasing diverse motion graphics projects, demonstrating creativity, technical skill, and artistic vision. Expert proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D (or similar 3D software), and other relevant design and animation tools. Solid understanding of animation principles, compositing, and visual effects. Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, and composition. Strong project management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Experience with character animation and rigging is a plus. A keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling through visual media.
