Learning & Development Specialist

**Office Location:** Foster City Office - Foster City, CA Under the direction of the Director of Learning & Development, the Learning & Development Specialist (ID) is responsible for designing and creating learning performance-based training materials and assessments that emphasizes adult learning concepts, active learning practices and objectives-based instructional strategies. Reviews, evaluates, and modifies existing and proposed programs, recommends appropriate changes * Possesses the ability to design and deliver instructor-led soft skills and leadership development workshops * Facilitates interactive live instructor-led training and distance learning courses using the latest technologies (Zoom, GotoWebinar, WebEx, and Adobe Connect) to support various learning initiatives * Collaborates with learners, subject matter experts and cross-functional team members to build appropriate materials to support courses and specific learning objectives * Designs, develops and disseminates learning and education aids (instructional materials, handouts, participants and facilitators' guides and visual aids) * Completes assigned tasks related to learning solutions which may vary depending on the position in shared projects * Pilots training modules, evaluates performance and provides feedback to the L&D team, and makes the necessary updates to the materials with minimal direction * Designs, conducts, and evaluates post instruction outcomes using various levels of current learning evaluation methods (beyond Kirkpatrick's L1) * Supports assigned duties associated with our New Employee Orientation process and related educational experiences * Maintains knowledge base and online intranet resources * Supports the L&D team in maintaining accurate information in our Learning Management System (LMS), as needed * Performs other duties as required Master's degree preferred * Must have 3 to 5 years of experience in planning and designing interactive learning activities, including instructional design, course development, and project management * A minimum of 3 years of experience in SCORM compliant eLearning solutions including development, design, graphic design, 2D/3D animation, audio/visual production and using the e-learning applications (Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond (former GoAnimate)) and other eLearning design tools * Must have at least 2 years of required experience in project management, particularly in the creation of eLearning content using a range of software and rapid development tools * Be proficient in Adobe e-Learning Suite and its capabilities, including HTML5 and responsive course design and development * Advanced knowledge and detailed understanding of training theories, methodologies and techniques, specially related to the use of technology in adult education * Must have the ability to work in a collaborative environment and be able to multi-task * Demonstrated ability to deliver and meet tight deadlines * Must have excellent organizational and client consulting skills * Demonstrated proficiency using MS Office suite applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) * Exceptional and effective written and oral communication skills to address a wide variety of audiences * Must be organized, able to act independently, have an eye for detail and can put ideas into a tangible form with minimal supervision * In-classroom facilitation and presentation skills are highly desirable * Be proficient in Learning & Development industry trends, using market analysis to gain additional insight as to innovation within our learning strategies * Must have the ability to produce recent work samples upon request * Must possess a valid California driver's license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
