Marketing & Communications Associate

Working with leadership and program staff, as well as with affiliated networks, the Marketing & Communications Associate helps promote and disseminate key MICOP messages through publications, web platforms, videos, social media, events, and marketing campaigns. The Marketing & Communications Associate works across a host of disciplines and platforms, editing content, providing basic website design and management, assisting with publication layout and design, and engaging in social media outreach. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in the MICOP’s mission; is skilled at working independently and as part of a team; and is able to demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities ● Work with the Associate Director and program team leaders to highlight program needs ● Work with program teams to establish effective social media strategies ● Accurately track activities, success stories, outreach and event data, including social media metrics and create reports in collaboration with program supervisors ● Support with written and multimedia content for MICOP’s online presence including mass emails, webpages, social media posts, etc. to support MICOP’s communications ● Assisting MICOP staff and indigenous leaders with preparation for media interviews and speaking in public forums ● Ensure that all communications and marketing material aligns with brand standards ● Maintain digital media archives including photos and videos ● Work with administration and development team members to conceptualize and implement communications strategies and campaigns ● Develop protocols for immediate communication regarding current events ● Develop, write, edit, and design marketing and communications materials including web content, videos, newsletters etc.
