Marketing & Graphic Design Manager

The Marketing & Graphic Design Manager (MGDM) is responsible for executing the marketing strategy of the Northalsted Business Alliance (NBA), a 501c6 not-for-profit organization that manages and improves Chicago's historic LGBTQ+ Northalsted business district. This is a full-time, exempt position generally performed on a standard 9am-5pm weekly schedule, with occasional evening and weekend work required or assigned. Duties and Responsibilities (Primary): • Monitor trends to identify what modifications should be made to the NBA brand and the marketing of NBA products or services and/or to develop new brand strategies • Develop and present marketing/promotion strategy options to the Membership and Marketing Committees to attract new NBA members and increase the customer base for the Northalsted business district • Develop and Present short and long-term marketing strategies and advertising campaigns to increase brand awareness for the Northalsted business district and its programs/events, including: analyzing market trends to assess feasibility and profitability of campaigns ; planning/supervising committee-approved marketing campaigns and strategies, establishing deadlines and budgets accordingly ; tracking/measuring the success of marketing strategies via key performance indicators (KPIs) ; ensuring material outputs comply with and adhere to established design identities; creating/curating content ; making recommendations to support organizational branding and social media strategy. • Direct art, marketing and digital campaigns to promote NBA initiatives, programs and events • Coordinate creative briefs, directing the creativity process held before launching new brands and products • Manage projects and work load for any secondary (independently contracted) employees, interns or collaborators • Oversee copywriting, design, and layout and ensuring that all marketing materials comply with brand messaging and guidelines • Supervise the production and distribution of advertising materials • Prepare and present detailed reports on promotional/tourism campaigns, social media and website analytics, and market trends • Build strategic relationships and partner with key press contacts and marketing/PR agencies • Negotiate with agencies, vendors, and suppliers regarding distribution networks, costs, and strategies • Assist Festival Management partner(s) with demographic information and graphic design elements • Supervise stories for press outreach in a variety of formats • Implement marketing activity in line with the agreed budget to optimize cost-to-benefit ratio Physical Requirements of the Position Include (but are not limited to): • Sit for prolonged periods • Use a desktop computer for prolonged periods • Talk and hear, both in person and by telephone • Regularly ascend or descend stairs • Periodically stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
