Marketing Specialist / Graphic Designer

Responsibilities include providing graphic design services to the agency; creating social media marketing campaigns, graphics and daily content; implementing website enhancements that increase the agency's presence and positions Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) as the go-to source for K-12 education news and resources; and provides backup photography and videography services. Bachelor's degree or higher in graphic design or other art/computer-related field, marketing, public relations, communications, journalism or related field; Excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional creativity and eye for quality, able to think critically, be detailed oriented and good at multi-tasking; Working knowledge of Americans with Disabilities (ADA) compliance requirements for all published works; Skill in organizing information to present in an interesting and informative manner; Experience in website design and familiarity with SiteFinity or other website platform; Possess above average design skills and is proficient in design programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and PowerPoint; Competent writer who can produce quality copy for website content, marketing documents and social media posts that effectively conveys the intended message; Familiar with Associated Press style guidelines, editing, proofing and best practices for writing for the web; and Possess basic photography and videography skills, including familiarity with video editing programs.
