This is a Full-Time position with the Department of Human Services. The Communications Office is key in ensuring that South Dakotans are aware of the options and services available to them and their loved ones. This position will report to the Communications Administrator and be responsible for a variety of graphic design and media relations tasks, including assisting in developing and implementing a comprehensive communications plan for the Department, applying the Department's brand standards across all digital and printed media, drafting and managing engaging social media efforts, designing outreach and informational materials, maintaining a user-friendly website, writing press releases, developing feature stories with video and photo components, and reviewing marketing proposals and campaigns. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete an Employment Eligibility Verification, Form I-9. The State of South Dakota as an employer will be using E-Verify to complete employment eligibility verification upon hire.
