Memorial Designer/Analyst

The designer will use a computer for the use of image and design software to effectively and efficiently produce artwork; therefore an advanced level of computer skill is required. Duties: • Prepares drawings, illustrations, and graphics for bronze and granite memorials or projects using existing designs, specific references from customers and/or creation from scratch at an advanced level • Understands use of colors and shadows for photographs • Has the ability to draw and has an eye for a balanced layout • Understands how to adjust photos and other files in Photoshop or similar software • Reads and interpret rubbings, drawings, or electronic files provided by customers • Creates, revises and modifies illustrations and designs for Pre-Sales concept renderings • Prepares or assists in the production of technical illustrations for detailed projects or products • Ensures proper communication with internal/external customers in regards to specific graphics, proofing text, corrections, confirmation of sizes, colors, and textures and receipt of approvals to meet customer requests and expectations • Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements • Assists in compiling detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer programs • Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required • Participates with Project team to identify new programs or necessary modifications of existing programs to improve customer experience in design functionality for the end-user and internal processes • Maintains, audits, and enhances the integrity of assets with compliance to set protocols for file structure • Meets with internal/external customers, when applicable, to ensure expectations are met. If previous requirements are not fully met, candidate must have high school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 4 years in the field of graphic illustration or design and be able to demonstrate these skills Experience: 5+ years experience in a memorial, monument or graphic design capacity preferred. Willing to train if candidate has acceptable education and skill set (see education and skills & knowledge) Skills & Knowledge: Artistic talent and/or a strong understanding of design, portrait, scenic and drawing elements are needed and expected to be demonstrated. This position requires advanced training in graphic design software knowledge of Corel Draw, Photoshop, Illustrator, CAD and 3D modeling software.
