The Multimedia Graphic Designer will produce original
graphic design solutions for print, digital, and video content to solve a range
of communication needs, from internal procedures, trainings, and data-driven
reports to event promotion, videos, and community-focused awareness campaigns.
This role will work with and refine the visual system and identity standards
used across the university.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

* Use industry-standard graphic design and video editing tools
to design and produce documents, reports, presentations, videos, and other
design assets.
* Manage projects from conception to completion with a variety
of clients, colleagues, and vendors.
* Work with stakeholders to identify requirements that result
in the development of graphical and video deliverables.
* Design visual solutions for presentation of website content.
Monitor unit websites for visual consistency with university brand standards.
* Serve as a consultant to assist with creating training
deliverables.
* Organize and oversee photoshoots with professional
photographers.
* May assist higher level coworkers in supervising work
operations and lower-level coworkers, such as assisting higher level coworkers,
customers, and stakeholders in determining the most efficient and economical
means of producing graphics to convey the customers' information proofing
completed jobs before and after production.

**Minimum Qualifications**

1. Any one or any combination that equals thirty-six
(36) months from the categories below:

A. Credit
for progressively more advanced college or art-school course work that
would lead to a major in graphic/visual arts communication and/or design
- 60
semester hours equals 12 months
- 90
semester hours equals 24 months
- 120
semester hours or a Bachelor's Degree equals 36 months
B. Work
experience and/or on-the-job training that provided knowledge of progressively
more advanced, generally accepted principles, theories, practices, and
methods used in graphic designs and their applications to visual
communications problems that are/is comparable to the training provided
in the programs such as graphic/visual arts communication and/or design

2. Twenty-Four
(24) months of graphic design experience comparable to that
performed at the Graphic Designer Associate level of this series.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

* Knowledge of complex, multi-faceted design techniques including digital accessibility principles and best practices.
* Knowledge of printing techniques.
* Knowledge of production issues.
* Knowledge of compilation of cost estimates.
* Skilled in dealing with a variety of persons (such as clients, printers, and lower-level staff).
* Skilled in operation of industry-standard technology, including Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator,
and InDesign), to provide client with effective products.
* Skilled in supervising.
* Skilled in solving highly technical design problems, ranging from learning materials and infographics to data-driven
presentations, in ways that are informative and engaging.
* Ability to meet client's needs while also working within budgetary and time constraints.
* Ability to deal with design problems including proficiency designing for Microsoft 365 products.
* Ability to elucidate complex design options and solutions to lower level staff.

#### Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time Civil Service Multimedia Graphic Designer position, appointed on a 12-month basis with a hybrid work schedule option. The expected start date is as soon as possible after October 26, 2026.  Salary is commensurate with experience. The budgeted salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market data, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. This position is not eligible for any type of sponsorship for work authorization.
