Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:We are looking for a compassionate and imaginative designer to bring our mission to life through thoughtful visual storytelling. This role is responsible for creating impactful graphics and multimedia content that foster emotional connection, elevate engagement, and honor the dignity and care at the heart of our work. The designer will collaborate across print, digital, and social media platforms to support campaigns, events, and ongoing storytelling initiatives. Ideal candidates believe in the power of design to comfort, inspire, and amplify the voices of our community.Primary Responsibilities:Design digital and print materials including flyers, social graphics, brochures, banners, appeals and reportsCreate branded assets for social media posts, ads and stories in collaboration with content and events teamsSupport website imagery, layout elements and design refreshesMaintain visual consistency across all communications, aligned with brand standardsCollaborate with team members to brainstorm and develop visual concepts for campaigns and community engagement initiativesManage photo and video assets, including archiving and usage rightsContribute to the development of brand guidelines and templates for internal useQualifications and Skills Requirements:2–5 years of professional experience in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and/or other design tools (e.g. Canva, CapCut)Understanding of layout, typography and visual storytelling best practicesBasic knowledge of web design principles and asset optimization for various platformsExperience designing for social platforms and community-centered audiencesAbility to manage multiple projects while staying responsive and detail-orientedAbility to interpret and visually communicate sensitive topics with empathy and clarityStrong communication and collaboration skillsPreferred:Background in nonprofit, healthcare, or mission-driven organizationsComfort working with sensitive content and storytelling centered around care, grief and healingExperience working in multicultural communities, with a deep respect for cultural identity and traditionsWhy Navian Hawaii?Team-oriented, locally run nonprofit where every voice is heardCompetitive pay with an excellent benefits packageFlexible organization that supports positive work/life balanceWorking Conditions:Remote role with occasional in-person meetings May require lifting and transport of supplies up to 25 lbs.Occasional after-hours or weekend work based on operational needs.Must adhere to strict safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.Equipment Used:Operates phone system, computer (Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook and e-mail) pencil sharpener, calculator, and copierOccasional use of own personal motor vehicle which meets valid registration and insurance requirements.Must possess a valid Drivers' License, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.Uses digital content creation tools and social media management platforms.Hours: Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 am through 4:30 pm. However, position requires after hours work including weekends and holidays, as needed.Salary Range:$60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
