NCWIT Graphic Design Associate (Contract Position)

The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) is a prominent, national community of more than 1,400 organizations whose mission is to significantly increase girls’ and women’s participation in computing. NCWIT materials create awareness about the current state of affairs for technical girls and women, and key barriers to their participation in technology; increase knowledge about research-based practices for addressing these barriers; and, motivate individuals and organizations to take action. Thus, materials must be distinct and clearly portray goals, progress, and outcomes of the NCWIT mission. * Use expert knowledge of HTML and layout principles to build and design e-newsletter communications and webpages * Exercise a depth of understanding about visual hierarchy to efficiently design graphics to scale and legibility for social media. Minimum Qualifications: * bachelor’s degree in fine arts, graphic design, or other related field * a minimum of two years of professional experience as a Designer, Creative Director, or other graphic design position * skilled with MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and Dreamweaver) * proficient in HTML * ability to work efficiently and effectively within tight time constraints * ability to work with individuals with various educational and professional backgrounds including but not limited to students, educators, industry executives, website developers, and members of the press * proficiency with working offsite and independently while meeting deadlines
