Online Course Operations Manager (fully remote position, 20-25 hours/week, $28/hour) ESCALA Educational Services, a national professional development organization that works with Hispanic Serving Institutions, is hiring an Online Course Operations Manager to assist us with our transition from in person workshops to online synchronous/asynchronous educational courses. As our Course Manager you will start by working with the curriculum and operations team that produces the ESCALA Certificate in College Teaching & Learning, a 6-month professional development course for faculty that enrolls more than 100 faculty each year from Hispanic Serving colleges and universities across the U.S. You will accrue PTO based on hours worked, and are eligible for paid time off weekly for health and wellness, and 6 days per year of paid holidays. • Be the liaison between ESCALA and the Canvas LMS technical support, and help troubleshoot technical issues that arise • Monitor the participant experience and provide online support (logins, navigation, file upload/download) • Assist the CTL Program Director and Programs Assistant with live Zoom workshops, registration and enrollment of participants into the online courses when necessary Preferred Skills, Personality and Educational Background for Success in this Position • Master’s degree in any field • Certification or training in online course design (Quality Matters) • Experience in managing data in Microsoft Excel • Experience with the technical side of educational course design in Canvas or similar LMS, especially in the context of higher education • Experience in creating screencasted videos to assist users in navigating an online course • A passion for continuous learning and improvement of online participant experience • Easygoing personality with proven ability to work with others, learn new skills quickly, and handle disagreements professionally • Have an understanding of equitable course design and/or willingness to learn and read research on best practices for online course design for minoritized students • A huge plus if you have an interest and skills/experience in graphic design Please submit a letter of interest that includes your relevant experience and a resume or CV.
