Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason (BRI) has a bold mission: Predict, prevent, reverse and cure immune system diseases, from autoimmune disease to cancer to COVID-19. We examine the immune system in both health and disease to understand how disorders start and how to rebalance the immune system back to health. Overview The Outreach Research Assistant is an essential member of the small team that promotes Benaroya Research Institute’s type 1 diabetes (T1D) research among patients, healthcare providers, and T1D groups throughout the Pacific Northwest; and that recruit’s participants for studies and clinical trials. The person in this role has daily interaction with individuals and healthcare providers via phone calls, emails, virtual meetings, and in-person; and has strong writing and in-person communication skills. • Track and register for diabetes conferences and events throughout the Pacific Northwest, virtually and in-person, and occasionally staff exhibitor tables at diabetes- related conferences and events for patients and healthcare providers • Promote T1D research studies to patients and providers via email and print mailings.
