Housed at Transgender Law Center through a 2019 Soros Justice Fellowship, The Disability Project (DP) magnifies the leadership, collective power, and visibility of Trans and LGBTQ Disabled/Deaf/Ill and Mad constituents. Led by a multi-racial, cross-class, cross-disability advisory board of transgender and gender nonconforming people, The Disability Project embeds disability, Deafness, and anti-ableism politics and expertise into LGBTQ movement work. Grounded in legal expertise and committed to racial justice, TLC employs a variety of community-driven strategies to keep transgender and gender nonconforming people alive, thriving, and fighting for liberation. *Create and sustain the DP’s social media channels *Work with DP staff, CAB members and involved disability justice community members to create and sustain rapid response content that centers anti -ableism and disability justice. *Experience in creating accessible social media *Ability to develop content and creative assets that demonstrate, elevates and emboldens greater commitment to disability justice and anti-ableism that embedded in LGBTQ trans liberation as well as racial, economic, gender, migrant and economic justice *An understanding of and familiarity with the community’s TLC and the Disability Project represents and seek to amplify within Trans-led and aligned movement work.
