URM Stores, Inc. is looking for a Part Time Graphic Designer with a solid foundation of graphic design, and who is eager and willing to learn, switch gears quickly, and be comfortable expanding one's knowledge base. This designer will build grocery ads for member stores including support all creative needs for the organization including, but not limited to, presentations and print collateral materials such as posters, flyers, mailers, etc. The candidate should be well versed in current graphic design software including InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.

This position requires reliable transportation as it is an 100% on-site presence, no remote work will be allowed.

Education:

Minimum AA Degree in Graphic Design. Desired skills & Experience:

Experience with page layout & preparing files for press. Experience of four-color process printing (CMYK). Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat. Mac knowledge a plus. Have a good balance of attention to detail, proof reading and composure under pressure. A typical day will consist of:

Assist with layout and design of grocery ad pages. Input text and photos into InDesign templates. Output to PDF for press and proofing. Use of spell check to ensure proper spelling of ad information. Must pay extreme attention to detail and have high level proofreading skills on own work as well as work of team members. Stay organized and understand ad calendars and deadlines. Cross-train with other team members. Create miscellaneous bag stuffers, signage & newspaper ads. Download, resize, clip, and manipulate photos in Photoshop. Incorporate themes and seasonal artwork as needed. Create low resolution PDFs for online viewing. Post PDFs to web sites. You Belong Here!
