Prepress / Graphic DesignerRole Description

LA Print House is looking for a full-time, on-site Prepress / Graphic Designer to join our team in San Fernando, CA.

This position is responsible for preparing customer artwork for print and production, ensuring files are accurate, properly formatted, and production-ready. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and experienced with preparing artwork for large-format and digital printing.

Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and modifying customer artwork, setting up files for production, checking dimensions, resolution, bleed, color, fonts, and overall accuracy before files are released to print.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and modify customer artwork for print production.Set up print-ready files with proper dimensions, bleed, crop marks, color settings, and resolution.Check artwork carefully for spelling, alignment, sizing, image quality, missing fonts, and other potential production issues.Create and modify layouts, graphics, and customer-supplied artwork as needed.Work primarily with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.Communicate with the production team to ensure files are set up correctly for each printer, material, and finishing method.Maintain organized customer and production files.Follow established prepress and production workflows.Manage multiple jobs and deadlines in a fast-paced print environment.Create graphics and promotional content for social media.Assist with posting and maintaining company social media content when needed.Help identify ways to improve artwork setup, workflow, organization, and overall production efficiency.QualificationsStrong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.Previous graphic design, prepress, print production, or similar experience preferred.Strong understanding of print-ready artwork, including bleeds, resolution, CMYK color, vector artwork, fonts, and file preparation.Exceptional attention to detail and strong proofing skills.Ability to catch spelling, layout, sizing, alignment, and artwork errors before production.Ability to prioritize and manage multiple jobs with tight deadlines.Strong organizational and file-management skills.Effective communication and teamwork skills.Comfortable communicating with production staff and customers regarding artwork when necessary.Experience creating graphics for social media and familiarity with social media posting.Experience in large-format printing, signage, event graphics, retail graphics, or commercial printing is a strong plus.Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and takes ownership of their work.
