Prepress Designer

Part-time, 3-month contract with opportunity to renew, in office.

Job Summary:

Up With Paper is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Prepress Designer who can work in a fast-paced studio while managing multiple deadlines. The ideal candidate will prepare all prepress, file construction, technical processes, and finishes for all products created by our in-house design team pertaining to our award-winning pop-up greeting cards and books, including custom products and programs for numerous Key Accounts. Basic graphic design skills and knowledge are essential. This position is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours a week, but may be flexible depending on our incoming available workload and your schedule. The contract spans 3 months, with the opportunity to renew.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare all prepress, file construction, technical processes, and finishes for numerous products.

Work under direction of the Key Accounts Production Manager to ensure card files are final and ready for production:Indicate appropriate finishes with accurate placement in Illustrator files, including hot foil, embossing, debossing, spot UV, glitter, etc.Include company legal information required across all products.Create accurate packaging files.Properly organize and construct files per studio standards.Required Skills/Abilities:

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each job duty. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be proficient with Mac and Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. Must also be able to use Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. Familiar with Google Docs and Spreadsheets.It is crucial to be able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, exhibit strict attention to detail, be self-motivated, and exercise proactive and independent project judgment.Ability to work hands-on with tight craftsmanship to apply embellishments on physical card prototypes.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Ability to learn and understand how 3-dimensional product files are laid out and constructed, as well as good sense of spatial scale.Please note that the most qualified candidates will receive a take-home test project to confirm their skill set.Education and Experience:

2-4 years of experience in prepress or graphic design.A future full-time position is possible for the right candidate. Working with our established 47-year-old international company is an excellent growth opportunity.Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
