Company Overview The Prepress Operator is responsible for creating or preparing and verifying digital files prior to printing. Responsibilities: • Carry out accurately and precisely detailed instructions from job orders • Identify possible errors or problems and take prompt action to correct • Check and verify digital files for accuracy and print-readiness • Ensure correct resolution, color space, and font quality • Make necessary adjustments to files using graphic design software • Collaborate with print production team to troubleshoot any prepress issues • Organize and maintain and archive digital files • Prepare files for final output to various print presses and large format equipment, including imposition • Follow all prepress procedures, including proofing and approvals • Some light design work • Locate old jobs to use as a base for new incoming jobs Requirements: • Highest proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite programs, including InDesign and Illustrator • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel • Understanding of color management and file formats • Excellent attention to detail and ability to catch errors • Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with cross-functional colleagues • Experience working in a printing environment is preferred Education:
