Print Production & Design Assistant

Premier Fleet Graphics is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Print Production & Design Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on production position that combines graphic design, wide-format printing, vinyl production, finishing, and customer service.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, using computers and production equipment, reviewing print files, managing multiple jobs, and working with customers from order intake through pickup or delivery. Salary based on Experience.

Key Responsibilities - Graphic Design & File Preparation

Assist the design team with creating and modifying graphics and layouts.
Use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to prepare files for production.
Review customer artwork and make adjustments as needed.
Prepare files for printing and computer-cut vinyl.
Verify artwork, dimensions, colors, and production specifications before output.

Wide-Format Printing

Prepare and send files to wide-format printers.
Operate and maintain HP Latex printers.
Use Onyx RIP software to process print files.
Monitor print quality and make necessary adjustments.
Troubleshoot printer issues and communicate with technical support when needed.
Perform routine printer maintenance.

Vinyl & Print Production

Operate vinyl plotters and cutting equipment.
Weed computer-cut vinyl.
Mask vinyl graphics.
Laminate printed graphics.
Cut and prepare printed materials for installation.
Apply vinyl and printed graphics to various substrates.
Follow production layouts and work orders accurately.
Perform quality checks throughout the production process.

Materials & Shop Operations

Prepare and clean substrates for vinyl application.
Maintain an organized and clean production area.
Monitor inventory and communicate material needs to management.
Order materials and supplies as needed.
Organize stock and production supplies.
Assist with shipping and receiving.

Customer Service & Office Support

Answer phones and assist customers.
Help walk-in customers with questions and orders.
Assist with jobs from initial order through completed pickup or delivery.
Communicate professionally with customers and team members.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on production position. Candidates must be able to:

Stand for extended periods, including 4+ hours at a time.
Lift and move materials weighing 50+ pounds.
Bend, lean, and work over waist-high tables.
Perform repetitive back-and-forth hand movements when applying vinyl and masking materials.
Safely handle large-format printed materials and substrates.

Qualifications

Required:

Basic computer proficiency.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to follow instructions, work from production schedules, and meet deadlines.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferred:

1–2 years of experience in graphic design, sign production, vehicle graphics, or wide-format printing.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Experience with Onyx RIP and HP Latex printers.
Experience with vinyl cutting, weeding, masking, laminating, or graphic application.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Drivers License with clean driving record.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and willing to get their hands dirty. This is not a strictly desk-based graphic design position. The successful candidate will spend time both behind a computer and on the production floor, helping turn designs into finished graphics.
