Print & Vinyl Technician

The Print and Vinyl Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining large format flatbed 
printers, roll printers, vinyl plotters, and laminators to produce high-quality printed materials and 
signage. This position involves applying vinyl, performing touch-up printing as needed, and ensuring 
that all equipment operates efficiently. The technician must have strong attention to detail, be 
organized in managing files and spreadsheets, and have basic graphic design knowledge, as well as 
proficiency in color matching.

***KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:***
**Equipment Operation**
• Operate large format flatbed printers and roll printers to produce high-quality graphics and 
signage according to specifications.
• Use vinyl plotters to cut vinyl graphics accurately for various projects.
• Utilize laminators to apply protective coatings to prints and enhance durability.
**Vinyl Application and Touch-Up**
• Apply vinyl graphics to substrates, ensuring precise alignment and adhesion.
• Perform touch-ups on printed materials to correct any errors or defects, maintaining overall 
quality standards.
• Collaborate with the Production Manager to ensure that final products meet design intents 
and specifications.
**Troubleshooting and Maintenance**
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and perform routine maintenance on printers and 
plotters to ensure optimal performance.
• Contact service technicians for repairs and maintenance when necessary, maintaining 
effective communication regarding equipment issues.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and any equipment malfunctions for tracking 
purposes.
**File and Project Management**
• Organize and manage digital files, ensuring that all artwork and production files are 
accessible and up to date.
• Maintain spreadsheets and documentation related to production schedules, job status, and 
inventory levels.
• Assist in preparing files for production, ensuring that specifications are met and deadlines are 
adhered to.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Skills and Competencies:**
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Proficiency in operating large format printers, vinyl plotters, and laminating equipment.
• Basic graphic design knowledge and experience with design software are preferred (e.g., 
Corel, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Good organizational skills with the ability to manage files and spreadsheets effectively.
**Education and Experience:**
• High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical training in graphic design or 
printing preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a printing or vinyl application role is preferred.
• Familiarity with signage printing processes and color management is a plus.
WORK SCHEDULE:
• Full-time, typically standard business hours. Occasional flexibility may be required to address 
production deadlines or project needs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Involves standing for extended periods, manual dexterity for operating machines, and 
handling materials.
• May require lifting materials (up to 50 lbs.) and performing physically demanding tasks during the process
