Working closely with the Marketing & Communications team and cross-departmental partners, the Production Artist adapts existing creative concepts into final deliverables, manages asset libraries, and supports file preparation for both internal and external use.This position is a part-time role, averaging 20–25 hours per week, with some flexibility in schedule.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPrepare print-ready and digital assets using existing designs, ensuring accuracy in file formatting, resolution, dimensions, and color profiles.Adapt and resize creative assets across platforms (e.g., signage, email graphics, posters, social media, web).Collaborate with the design and marketing teams to ensure deliverables align with brand standards and messaging.Maintain and update organized digital libraries of assets, templates, and project files.Track project timelines and manage workflow to ensure on-time delivery.Ensure all final files meet production specs and perform quality control checks before release.Support exhibit production needs, including formatting wall graphics, signage, and large-format prints.Assist with basic WordPress content updates and email formatting using provided assets.Coordinate with external vendors and printers to deliver files accurately and on deadline.Maintain organized files and contribute to a shared archive of creative assets.KEY ATTRIBUTES & SKILLSCreative thinker with strong attention to detail.Able to balance multiple priorities with limited supervision.Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.Comfortable adapting brand guidelines across a variety of mediums.Enthusiasm for informal education, museums, and nonprofit impact.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & TOOLS1–2 years of graphic design experience (portfolio required).Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in graphic design, visual communications, or related fieldStrong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).Experience with Canva, WordPressComfort with tools like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Basecamp (or other project management software).Detail-oriented with excellent file management and organization skillsKnowledge of print production best practices, color theory, and resolution standardsAbility to follow brand guidelines and adapt designs without altering conceptual intentKnowledge of nonprofit communications or brand storytelling is a bonus.SPECIAL CONDITIONSMust be at least 18 years oldThe work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.Typically, walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items (up to 20 pounds unassisted), and 50lbs assisted are required. At times, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work.
