Program Supervisor - Youth Tutoring Center

Confidential Seattle-Tacoma, Washington

The Youth Tutoring Program (YTP) is an after-school educational enrichment program for students in 1st through 12th grade who live in six low-income and public housing communities in Seattle. Begun in 1991 as a partnership with the Seattle Housing Authority, the tutoring centers provide youth with a positive learning environment and a tutoring program to help them build academic success. We are looking for someone who is a fantastic multi-tasker, who can comfortably manage the main components of this position: Managing the tutoring center two evenings per week, connecting with and supporting tutors and parents, monitoring student progress and strategizing/seeking guidance from school day teachers, developing and implementing recruitment strategy to bring in approximately 300 new volunteer tutors each year, leading volunteer orientations, supervising interns supporting volunteer recruitment, and  participating in community events and initiatives to improve student’s educational outcomes. The tutoring center is located in the Rainier Beach neighborhood of Seattle, and volunteer recruitment work is based out of the YTP office in central Seattle. Work with the YTP team to develop and implement strategic recruiting initiatives to meet volunteer levels required all six tutoring centers and to cover center requirements and for special projects.
