Retail Store Manager in the Dogpatch for plant, flower and goods store

Store Manager Job Title: Retail Store Manager Position Type: Hourly Rate: $65k annually, based on experience Direct Report: Owner Job Summary: Responsible for the overall direction, fulfillment, prosperity and cleanliness of the Retail Store. The Retail Store Manager plays an indispensable role in the Revel team; Directing Store Associates through day-to-day operations while meeting Revel’s high standards for design, professionalism, customer service and success. Essential Job Functions: -Perform all opening and closing-of-day duties, including register, security, floral care, plant care and appropriate locking/unlocking of Retail Store -Keep track of all monies associated with the Retail Store using POS system and insure the Owner has all pertinent and accurate financial information, receipts and invoices every day -Perform and direct the processing of any live products and organization of incoming supplies by the Store Assistants while ensuring all incoming flowers and supplies are correct and all live products meet Revel standards -Schedule and direct Store Assistants to cover all shifts and all procedural duties, including adherence of Store Assistants to all required professional duties pertaining to Revel’s Retail Store -Instruct Store Assistants on how to use POS system, how to design in the Revel aesthetic, how to take and fulfill orders and how to accurately and safely handle customer information with financial responsibility -Ensure that all fresh flowers and plants have been processed daily, store cleaned thoroughly and all live assets are cared for according to their needs -Ensure that all inventory is presented creatively and with an accurate price, and that all fresh offerings are designed well with attention to detail -Maintain supply levels in the Retail Store and forecast supply needs for upcoming weeks or events -Write floral supply orders for upcoming weeks, months and seasons, ensuring client’s requests are covered -Plan for upcoming holiday orders and project the seasonal direction the Store will take, ensuring the Retail Store is fully stocked, decorated and ready for special occasions and customer’s seasonal desires -Manage offerings on the Retail Website, establishing a schedule of renewal for the website and making sure that all holiday and special occasions are covered -Occasionally accompany Owner to select and/or pick up flowers and supplies -Design and direct Store Assistants to design florals, live plants and accessories while adhering to Revel’s high level of design and quality -Ensure all orders are fulfilled on a day-to-day basis with care towards client’s needs, and that all next-day orders are done before close-of-day -Ensure Store Assistants are performing their job professionally, are dressed appropriately and are using the POS and time clock accurately -Assist with implementing new systems to streamline jobs, cut costs and create efficiency -Other duties as needed Requirements: -High School Diploma or equivalent -Must speak fluent English -Must have a professional groomed appearance and mature attitude -Impeccable customer service skills, in-person and over the phone and especially with elite clientele -Must have a working knowledge of flower and plant names and their respective needs throughout the seasons -Must have a naturally creative eye and the ability to take creative criticism in order to improve -Must have a Revel compatible design aesthetic -Must have a least 2 years of Floral Design experience -Must have at least 2 years of Retail Management experience with contactable references -Strong organizational skills with attention to detail a must -Ability to multi-task in a high-energy environment and manage time wisely with good organizational skills -Experience with managing multiple staff professionally -Experience with marketing and display management through seasonal changes in a retail environment -Experience with buying for retail location -Ability to work independently with strong motivation towards completing a task -Ability to work in ever-changing situations and use common sense to solve problems quickly and with composure -Ability to safely and regularly lift, carry, push, drag and move up to 50 lbs. -Ability to regularly stand, walk, crouch, lift and work on a hard surface for long periods of time -Ability to climb and work from a ladder or perch -Mindful use of powerful or dangerous tools and correct use of supplemental safety equipment -Must have reliable transportation to and from the Revel Retail Store -Available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and some holidays -Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record Bonus Skills: -Background in a creative field like fine art, fashion, event or graphic design -Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, especially in a creative or business management field -Background in gardening, plant, or floral work -Certification in Floral Design -Bilingual English/Spanish
