Department Detail – The Communications Department at BGEA consists of the following areas: project management, ecommerce, email marketing, advertising, public relations/social media/promotion, creative services (graphic design, content writing/proofing and production), and Decision magazine, our official monthly publication. The department tells the story of what God is doing through the BGEA by creating print and online content that support the organization’s mission of proclaiming the Gospel, negotiating paid and leveraging unpaid promotional placements, and engaging new and existing supporters with targeted content using a combination of indirect and direct communications channels.

Job Summary – The Senior Graphic Desing position implements graphic design and production art functions for assigned ministry areas of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA).

Provides excellent quality layout and design for communications projects, producing detailed comps through completion of electronic graphic and layout filesIdentifies main project message or objective, translating it into a strong, effective graphic communicationDevelops creative solutions to problems, thinking through concepts both individually and with team members, and reviewing work objectivelyPerforms expert skill level, “hands on” technical aspects of production workWorks with a variety of internal clients to help define projects and to develop concepts and effective, creative solutionsCommunicates with production staff and external vendors regarding job specifications and other detailsReviews, prepares, and collects electronic layout and support files for print vendors, clearly communicating specifications and accurately documenting job detailsRecords or electronically transmits CD or DVD versions of collected project filesExecutes electronic photo color correction and design technique to the highest standardsPerforms layout corrections after proofreading review, and performs press checks to ensure that quality standards are metMarginal Duties and Responsibilities

Archives files and photographsPhotographs basic still-life arrangements in photo studio or on locationAssists with technical aspects of production work, including ensuring that departmental software and hardware are up to date; coordinates acquisition of digital photographs, original art, fonts, and other resources needed for project completionDesigns portions of Decision Magazine and coordinates the acquisition of digital photographs, original art, fonts and other resources neededOperates image scanning equipmentPerforms other duties as assignedJob Specifications

Skills and Knowledge

Statement of Faith

These core beliefs make up the foundation upon which all our ministry endeavors are based.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God revealing the love of God to the world. (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 3:16).We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6).We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
