Sign Designer / Graphic Designer

We’re not looking for a typical graphic designer.

We’re looking for someone with strong design talent, solid software skills, and a builder’s mindset — someone who enjoys creating with their hands, understands how things go together, and wants to design projects that are actually manufactured and installed in the real world.

This role can be a great fit for an experienced designer or a motivated entry-level candidate with the right raw skills and attitude. If you’re sharp, eager to learn, mechanically minded, and strong with design software, we’re willing to train the right person.

About Us

Signarama Cleveland is a growing custom sign company specializing in the design, fabrication, and installation of interior and exterior signage for businesses, healthcare facilities, schools, retail, corporate offices, and national accounts.

We create real-world projects including monument signs, channel letters, wayfinding systems, wall graphics, ADA signage, dimensional letters, architectural signage, and more.

What You’ll Do

Design custom signs, branded environments, and visual concepts
Create production drawings and technical layouts
Assist with permit drawings and submittals
Translate ideas into practical, buildable solutions
Work closely with project managers, production staff, and installers
Help select materials, dimensions, mounting methods, and finishes
Revise artwork based on feedback
Learn fabrication methods and real-world sign construction
Help solve problems before they happen in the field

What We’re Looking For

Required:

Strong design instincts and good visual taste
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or similar design software
CAD experience or the ability to quickly learn CAD tools
Strong attention to detail
Mechanically inclined / enjoys building things
Able to think in 2D and 3D
Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Big Plus:

Sign industry experience
AutoCAD, SketchUp, Flexi, or similar software experience
Construction, fabrication, carpentry, or hands-on trade background
Experience reading blueprints or technical drawings
Knowledge of materials, lighting, and mounting methods

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
